Jay's Story

Jay Thomas Struck was a completely special little spirit that connected with everyone he met on an individual level, and like any Mum … he makes me very proud.

He passed away in his sleep on 18th June 2002 at the age of 10 months and 10 days from SIDS. It was unexpected … There were no warnings … And it was heartbreaking…

SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and SUDC (Sudden and Unexplained Death in Childhood) are merely acronyms for the description of what happened to our children - we lost them without cause, and without warning.

Unfortunately SIDS and SIDC are not spoken about as much as other medical conditions because the topic is so sad. We can't allow the sadness of what happened, prevent us from finding a cause, and then hopefully a cure. This is the reason that I've become closely associated to the Splash of Red Foundation.

We need to raise as much money as possible so that we can find the answers that bereaved parents and families need ... but more importantly, help to prevent the needless loss of our children in the future.
